Celebrating the 4th of July

This year was a lonely year at the cabin on the 4th.  Just Ken and I for one night only.  We even missed the fireworks.  But the parade was fun and we lost the duck race.  Again.  We came home Saturday night because Ken had meetings and I had to teach Sunday school.  Sunday we had the Yamaguchi's over for a dinner and a game of Molkky.  Kristy won.
On Monday we went four-wheeling with Fred and Mary.  It was a blast and so beautiful.  I think I'd forgotten the smell of a pristine pine forest.  It was heavenly.  We parked in Wallsburg and went up a dirt road over into Strawberry reservoir.  We ate lunch at Daniels Summit lodge.  I had a great time and kind of think it would be fun to own a four-wheeler.   (I even got a little bit stiff from using unused muscles!)
